To all the bands that participated in
Bandfest 2011. You should be proud of your efforts. See you next year!
Bandfest is an annual festival of banding in the Hunter Central
Coast Region. Currently in its tenth year, this three- day competition
celebrates school bands and is for the enjoyment and enrichment of all ages.
Bandfest caters for primary and secondary school bands in the concert and jazz
genres.
The purpose built arts venue and high quality musical
adjudicators make this a competition not to be missed in the school year!
What do we perform?
Each performance has a set time limit
depending upon which section you are entering. The limit includes set up &
tune up time, and you may perform up to four pieces of your choice. There are
no set pieces.
Who can enter
Bandfest?
The competition is open to Department
of Education and Training Primary and High Schools.
How can I be involved?
Sample DVDs (or videos) are submitted
by primary schools for grading, and secondary schools are graded on their
performances from the year prior. First time schools will be required to
nominate a category based on entry form guidelines.
How much does it cost?
For your own DVD and written
adjudication, awards for each child and a trophy for the section winner, the
cost is only $50 per school band.
Where is Bandfest
held?
The festival is held at the Warners Bay
Performing Arts Centre on the corner of The Esplanade and
Bandfest is hosted by the NSW
Department of Education and Training in conjunction with Lake Macquarie City
Council.
